The Frog and the Scorpion: An Animal Story
Once upon a time, in a lush green forest, lived a kind-hearted frog. The frog was loved by all the animals in the forest for his friendly nature and helpfulness. One day, while the frog was sitting by the river, he heard a voice calling out to him.
“Excuse me, Mr. Frog, can you help me cross the river?” It was a scorpion that had approached the frog.
The frog was a bit hesitant at first, but he could see that the scorpion was in dire need of help. “I am happy to help you,” said the frog. “But aren’t you afraid that I might carry you across the river and leave you in the middle of it?”
The scorpion smiled and replied, “Why would I do that?” “If I stung you in the middle of the river, we would both drown.”
The frog found the scorpion’s logic to be sound and agreed to help him. The frog then asked the scorpion to climb on his back and hold on tight.
As they crossed the river, the scorpion suddenly stung the frog on his back. The frog was shocked and in immense pain. He asked the scorpion, “Why did you do that?” “Now we will both drown.”
The scorpion replied, “I’m sorry, Mr. Frog.” It’s just in my nature. “I couldn’t resist.”
The frog was devastated. He had trusted the scorpion and had done him a favor, only to be betrayed in the end. As they both started to sink into the river, the frog had just enough time to ask the scorpion one final question.
“But why did you ask me for help in the first place, knowing that you would end up stinging me?”
The scorpion replied, “I couldn’t help myself, Mr. Frog.” “It’s just in my nature.”
The moral of the story is that some creatures cannot be trusted, even if they seem harmless. The scorpion had a natural instinct to sting, and no matter how much he wanted to change it, he could not. It is important to be cautious and not blindly trust anyone, especially those who have shown a pattern of harmful behavior in the past.
