The Last Supper | Bible Story
Judas was in charge of the small amount of money that Jesus and the disciples could use. People who knew him knew that he was dishonest and sometimes stole money from the bag because he was so greedy. But nothing could make him tell the truth.
He went to the chief priests and asked, “What will you give me if I hand over Jesus?(Last Supper) ” They agreed to give him thirty pieces of silver, and he kept an eye out for a chance to arrest Jesus.
It was the first day of Passover, so Jesus sent two of his followers into town. Jesus said, “You’ll find a man with a pitcher of water.” “Follow him to his house and ask him if we can hold the Feast of Unleavened Bread there.”
The disciples found the man, and he was happy to let them start getting ready for the feast. Jesus and his twelve disciples went there.
As they sat there, Jesus said, “This is the last meal we will have together.” “One of you will tell on me if you eat with me.”
And the disciples looked at each other and wondered who would do it. Jesus said it was the person to whom he gave bread dipped in wine and then gave it to Judas. Judas quickly left the room. Jesus said, “It would have been better if he hadn’t been born at all!” Jesus prayed over the bread, then broke it and gave it to his disciples.
“Take it and eat!” said Jesus. “This is where I live.” He gave thanks to God by raising his cup of wine and then gave the cup to the disciples, saying, “This is the blood I’ll spill for a lot of people. It’s proof of what I said I would do. I won’t eat or drink wine again until I reach the Kingdom of Heaven.”
