On 5 November 2013, Mars Orbiter Mission successfully placed India’s first interplanetary spacecraft into Martian orbit on its maiden attempt; MOM completed 200 days orbiting Mars on March 24, 2015, and is still operational today, having greatly exceeded its original lifespan.
