Humpty Dumpty (New Version)

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,

But as he tumbled down, you see,

He landed in a cup of tea.

He sank right in up to his chin,

But didn’t even crack his skin,

For you see, he was no ordinary egg,

He was a super egg, with a special leg.

And so he hopped out of the cup,

With a nimble little jump,

And as he bounced away, you know,

He left a trail of rainbow.

The children watched with wonderment,

At this egg that wouldn’t crack,

For they knew that Humpty Dumpty,

Was more than just a snack.

So next time you see an egg,

Remember Humpty’s special tale,

And maybe, just maybe,

You’ll see eggs in a different way.

Humpty Dumpty Extended Version

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall;

All the king’s horses and all the king’s men

Couldn’t put Humpty together again.

He fell so hard, he shattered in two,

And all of the king’s men didn’t know what to do;

They tried to fix him up with glue and tape,

But poor Humpty could not escape his fate.

The children cried and the adults sighed,

As they watched poor Humpty’s shell divide;

But then a funny thing began to occur,

As Humpty’s pieces started to blur.

He started to wiggle and jiggle around,

And then his pieces began to astound,

For they started to join back together,

And Humpty was no longer in a tether.

He stood up tall, as good as new,

And all the people began to coo,

For they had never seen such a sight,

As Humpty being put back right.

So now when you see an egg,

Remember Humpty’s special pledge,

That even when he fell apart,

He had the strength to restart.

Humpty Dumpty, Older Version

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,

All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
