Jingle Bells Poem (New Version)

Dashing through the snow,

In a one-horse open sleigh,

Over hills we go,

Laughing all the way!

Bells on bobtails ring,

Making spirits bright,

What fun it is to ride and sing

A sleighing song tonight!

But then the snowstorm hit,

And our sleigh lost its way,

We trudged through the drifts, bit by bit,

As night turned into day.

Our laughter turned to shivers,

As the wind began to howl,

We feared we’d be lost forever,

In this endless, snowy scowl.

But suddenly a light appeared,

Through the blinding snow,

And we knew that we were near,

To a warm and cozy abode.

We were welcomed with open arms,

By a family so kind,

And we realized in that moment,

That the greatest joy we could find,

Was not in the jingle bells,

Or the sleigh ride in the snow,

But in the love and warmth of those,

Who share with us their home.

Jingle Bells Poem (Original Version)

Dashing through the snow

In a one-horse open sleigh

O’er the fields we go

Laughing all the way

Bells on bobtails ring

Making spirits bright

What fun it is to ride and sing

A sleighing song tonight

Jingle bells, jingle bells

Jingle all the way

Oh, what fun it is to ride

In a one-horse open sleigh

Dashing through the snow

In a one-horse open sleigh

Over the hills we go

Laughing all the way

Bells on bobtails ring

Making spirits bright

What fun it is to ride and sing

A sleighing song tonight

Jingle bells, jingle bells

Jingle all the way

Oh, what fun it is to ride

In a one-horse open sleigh

A day or two ago

I thought I’d take a ride

And soon, Miss Fanny Bright

Was seated by my side

The horse was lean and lank

Misfortune seemed his lot

He got into a drifted bank

And then we got upsot

Jingle bells, jingle bells

Jingle all the way

Oh, what fun it is to ride

In a one-horse open sleigh

Jingle bells, jingle bells

Jingle all the way

Oh, what fun it is to ride

In a one-horse open sleigh!
